FLORHAM, N.J. - Wesley College dropped four matches at the Devils' Classic Volleyball Tournament at FDU-Florham on October 3-4.
Wesley (10-11) competed in Pool A on Friday, October 3 and dropped matches against the hosts and Plattsburgh State by matching 3-0 finals.
Game scores against the Devils were 25-10, 25-11, and 25-9. Against Plattsburgh, the Wolverines fell 25-17, 25-14, and 25-13.
The 0-2 start placed the Wolverines in the Bronze Pool on Saturday. Wesley dropped its first match 3-1 to St. Joseph's 25-22, 25-22, 16-25, and 25-8. Junior Nettie Choice (Lewes, Del.) turned in a rare feat in that match, going a perfect 9-for-9 attacking to set a school record for highest attack percentage in a match.
After the tournament, junior Lilia Brekke (Magnolia, Del.) was named to the all-tournament team.
The Wolverines have now lost six in a row and are stuck on 10 wins, one short of the school record 11 set last season.
Wesley will look to rebound with a Capital Athletic Conference match at Wentworth Gymnasium when St. Mary's (Md.) visits the Wolverines for a 7:00 PM start on October 8.
