BALTIMORE, Md. - Lilia Brekke had a Wesley College season-high 21 kills, but the College of Notre Dame of Maryland outlasted the Wolverines in five games.
Set scores were 26-28, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10.
Brekke's 21 kills were six more than the previous season-high of 15 on August 30 against Cedar Crest. The junior also added 13 digs against the Gators.
Sophie Reed chalked up 10 kills, 24 assists, three aces, eight digs and a block to fill up the stat sheet.
Kristen Roberts had 12 kills to round out the offense. Nettie Choice racked up seven blocks with Erin Helmick adding four.
The Wolverines (11-15) outlasted the Gators in the first set. Wesley faced a Notre Dame set point at 26-25, but ran off three straight points to take the set.
After falling in the second set, the Wolverines trailed as late as 20-19 in the third before prevailing 25-23.
In set four, the Gators used a five-point run to erase an 11-9 deficit and set up the decisive fifth set. In that set, Notre Dame jumped ahead 4-0 and the Wolverines could never pull closer than 11-9 before the Gators took the match with a 15-10 win.
Kimberly Myers led all players with 27 kills for Notre Dame. Christina Kudrna dished out 50 assists and had four aces. Catherine Subrizi had 13 kills, 16 digs and three aces.
Wesley returns to conference action with a road match at Mary Washington on Thursday, October 23.
