DOVER, Del. - First place Salisbury proved too much for Wesley College as the Wolverines fell in three sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-16.
Jessica Taylor (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) led Wesley with nine kills. Kristen Roberts (Loveland, Colo./Middletown (Del.)) served up three aces and had six assists and five digs. Jacquelle Boone (New Plymouth, Idaho/Gem State Academy) notched three blocks.
Salisbury came out with a 10-0 run in the first set and cruised to a 25-15 win. The Wolverines hung tough in set two and trailed just 15-13 before the Sea Gulls went up 2-0 after closing the set with a 10-2 run. The third set was tied at 11-11 before another Salisbury run put the match away.
Wesley travels to Washington (Md.) for a tri-match with the Shorewomen and Goucher on October 12.
