OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Wesley College fell in three sets to Stevenson in a Capital Athletic Conference volleyball match.

The Mustangs led 9-5 in the first set, but a kill by Sharis Allen (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) and back-to-back aces by Carle Ax (Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston) started a 7-3 run that tied the score at 12-12.  Stevenson, however, responded with seven straight points to put the set out of reach and went on to win 25-16.

After the Mustangs claimed a 25-12 win in the second set, the Wolverines trailed just 9-8 in third set after an ace by Alysha Brannan (Portland, Ore./Tigard), but Stevenson went on a 9-3 spurt before winning the set and the match with a 25-14 final in the set.

Allen led Wesley with five kills and one block.  Cristina Marruffo (Tulsa, Okla./Booker T. Washington) had 11 assists and nine digs.  Kristen Roberts (Loveland, Colo./Middletown (Del.)) added 10 digs.

The Wolverines wrap up their season at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) on October 28-29.
