DOVER, Del. – Despite a match-high 22 digs by Meghan Marshall, Wesley College's volleyball team was swept by Lancaster Bible (25-12, 25-17, 25-20) on Tuesday night at Wentworth Gymnasium. The Wolverines are now 3-17 on the year while the Chargers move to 7-13.
Lindsay DiMuzio led the squad offensively with six kills and also contributed with ten digs, two aces and a pair of blocks. Cristina Marruffo hit a team-high .214 with five kills, to go with 12 assists and eight digs.
Tatum Jones also had a solid match for the Wolverines with two aces, three digs and three blocks.
The Chargers were led by Lauren Daniels and Lauren Heliger who combined for 24 kills while Hannah Metzler assisted on 30 kills for Lancaster Bible. Daniels also had 13 digs while Heliger just missed out on a double-double with nine digs.
Lancaster Bible out hit Wesley, .200 to .020 for the match.
The Wolverines return to the court on October 4 when they travel to Bryn Athyn for a 7 pm start.
