DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's volleyball team dominated Washington Adventist University, 3-0 (25-5, 25-8, 25-13) in the Wolverines season opener on Sunday afternoon at Wentworth Gymnasium. With the victory, Wesley improves to 2-1 on the season while the Shock dropped their season opener.
The Wolverines recorded 24 service aces and 22 kills while hitting .264 for the match while WAU hit -.155 with just nine kills.
Lindsay DiMuzio led Wesley with 11 points on the day with an errorless six kills on ten attempts, along with four aces and a solo block. Beth Schlecker tallied three kills with six aces for nine points and Ashley Klein registered a team-high seven service aces.
Schlecker (10) and Klein (6) combined for all but one of Wesley's assists and Meghan Marshall grabbed a team-high 12 digs.
Wesley now goes on the road for ten-straight matches, starting with a September 4th matchup at Goucher at 7 pm.
