Akakpo Records 2 Double-Doubles to Lead Volleyball

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Wesley College Volleyball team improves to 13-4 with a five set win over Arcadia (22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-15, 15-3) and a four set win over Gwynedd Mercy (19-25, 25-8, 25-18, 26-24) at The Griffin Complex on Saturday afternoon.  With the win against Arcadia the 2013 Wesley Volleyball team now has more wins than any team that has come before them.

Arnelle Akakpo recorded a double-double in both games. Akakpo posted 14 kills with 13 digs against Arcadia and 13 kills on only one error (.414) with 12 digs against Gwynedd Mercy. With 27 kills on the day, Akakpo moves into the top ten in the CAC with 137 kills on the season.

Ashley Klein and Samantha Weber each pulled in three service aces a piece in the game against Arcadia while Klein also had 28 assists.

Lindsay DiMuzio and Sharis Allen hit big against Gwynedd Mercy, garnering 12 kills with one error (.550) and 10 kills with one error (.500) respectively. Also performing well in the game was Megan Marshall with 32 digs in the game. Ashley Klein and Ashley Pierce recorded five service aces and four service aces respectively.

Wesley will play at Washington Adventist tomorrow, Sunday, September 29 at 3:00pm
