TAKOMA PARK, Md. – Wesley College's volleyball team won its seventh-straight match with a straight-set victory at Washington Adventist on Sunday afternoon. The Wolverines are now 14-4 on the season while the Shock falls to 2-11.
Sharis Allen led Wesley with 13 kills with just two errors on 19 swings for a .579 hitting percentage while Lindsay DiMuzio hit an errorless .727 with eight kills on 11 swings. Ashley Klein and Beth Schlecker quarterbacked the offense to a .500 hitting percentage for the match.
On the defensive end, Meghan Marshall led the way with 12 digs while Tatum Jones was credited with three solo blocks. Defensive specialist Rachel Hausler had just six digs but served nine of the Wolverines' 24 aces on the day. Marshall also had five aces while Ashley Pierce and Samantha Weber had four each.
Wesley opens Capital Athletic Conference play on October 2 when they travel to Penn State Harrisburg for a 7 pm start. With a win, the Wolverines will match the longest win streak in team-history (eight games in 2008).
