MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Freshman Arnelle Akakpo recorded her third double-double and senior Lindsay DiMuzio finished one block shy as the Wesley College volleyball team defeated Capital Athletic Conference member Penn State Harrisburg in four sets (25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23) on Wednesday night at Capital Union Building. With a record-tying eight-straight victory, the Wolverines improve to 15-4 on the year while the Lions fall to 4-13.
The double-double for Akakpo was her third in the last four matches as she finished with a match-high 12 kills along with a season-high 14 digs. DiMuzio blasted ten kills on the night and finished with six solo blocks and three block assists.
Ashley Klein quarterbacked the offense to a .141 hitting percentage for the match with 29 assists and also recorded four kills on four swings, four service aces and a solo block. Tatum Jones and Beth Schlecker also had five kills each while Sharis Allen finished with four.
Also on the defensive side, Meghan Marshall was credited with a team-high 23 digs while Ashley Pierce finished with 21. Rachel Hausler and Samantha Weber had 12 apiece while Weber also tallied four service aces.
Wesley hosts Southern Virginia on Friday, October 4, at 7 pm.
