CAMDEN, NJ. - The Wesley College women's volleyball team fell to Rutgers-Camden (15-25, 24-26, 22-25) and Misericordia (25-14, 15-25, 17-25, 9-25) in a pair of matches at Rutgers-Camden. The Wolverines fall to 8-5 with the two losses while the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden advance to 4-9 and the Cougars of Misericordia advance to 6-8
Game one pitted the Wolverines against the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden. The Raptors started strong, defeating Wesley 25-15 in the first set. The Wolverines fought back in the second set, tying the game at 24 before Rutgers-Camden managed to get their 26th point to end the set. Wesley went deep into the third set but wound up falling 25-22. Codi Ziolkowski, Tania Rounds, and Tionne Graves-Brown each contributed six kills each while Meghan Marshall and Samantha Weber contributed nine digs a piece.
Game two had both highs and lows for the Wolverines. Wesley came out on top in the first set of the game, defeating Misericordia 25-14 in the opener. The Wolverines could not keep the keep up the momentum and were defeated in three consecutive sets. Marshall performed well with a game high 23 digs. Graves-Brown had a team high 11 kills while Beth Schlecker had 27 assists.
The Wolverines travel to Immaculata University on Thursday, September 25 for a 7 PM game against the Mighty Macs.
