WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Wesley College volleyball team earned yet another split in two matches on Saturday. The Wolverines fell in straight sets to Otterbein, but rebounded with a 3-1 win over Marywood.
Against Otterbein, Tania Rounds led the team with six kills and Meghan Marshall led the squad with 14 digs. Beth Schlecker had a team-high nine assists and Samantha Weber chipped in with a season-high four assists. The squad fell 25-13, 25-17, 25-13.
In the second match of the day, Wesley looked like a different team. The Wolverines let the first set slip 23-25, but rebounded with three straight set wins, going 25-17, 25-21, 25-23 to close out the 3-1 victory over Marywood.
Tionne Graves-Brown set a new career-high with 17 kills and added 12 digs. Marshall made a season-high 24 digs and added a pair of aces while Charlene Coyne finished with a team best seven blocks, including four solo stuffs. As a team, Wesley finished with 16 total blocks, their second-highest block total of the season.
Codi Ziolkowski finished with a solid line of 31 assists, four blocks, four digs and two kills. The sophomore earned a place on the All-Tournament Team as well.
Wesley improves to 5-4 on the season and will return to action on Sept. 19 when they travel to Towson, Md. to take on Goucher College and Cedar Crest College in a tri-match.
