TOWSON, Md. - The Wesley College volleyball team earned a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon at the Goucher Tri-match, taking down host Goucher College 3-2 and sweeping Cedar Crest College 3-0.
The Wolverines faced a 2-1 deficit against Goucher but rallied tow earn a fourth set victory and rode their momentum into a 15-5 fifth set rout of the Gophers. Tionne Graves-Brown finished with 13 kills while Jessica Tynes added nine. Beth Schlecker contributed with 34 assists, a season-high for the setter. Meghan Marshall finished with a team-high 15 digs, while Graves-Brown earned a double-double with 13.
Against Cedar Crest College, the Wolverines got off to a hot start, taking the first set 25-8. The second and third sets were more competitive, but the Navy and White held off the Falcons to earn the 3-0 sweep. Graves-Brown recorded her second double-double of the day with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Kristin Wissler led the team with two aces. Codi Ziolkowski led the team with a total of three blocks while Tania Rounds notched a pair.
The Wolverines improve to 7-4 on the season, finishing their 10-match road trip with a 6-4 mark. The squad returns to Dover for their first home match since Sept. 1 on Tuesday, Sept. 22 when they host Immaculata.
