Wolverines Sweep Away Competition at Moravian Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Wesley College Volleyball team opened their season with a pair of matches at Moravian College as a part of the Greyhound Premiere Classic. The squad opened with 3-0 wins over Centenary and Ursinus to begin the year 2-0.

Wesley began the day with a 25-9, 25-14, 25-10 sweep of Centenary. The squad hit a whopping .485 in the first game, .210 in the second game, and .375 in the third. The team combined for 27 service aces in the match led by six from Kristin Wissler. The sophomore added a career-high 20 digs, four kills and five assists. Lindsay Burg led the team with 25 assists while Beth Schlecker dished out 12. Codi Ziolkowski led the team with seven kills while Tionne Graves-Brown added five kills in only one set played. Elisa Hackendorn had a strong debut at the net, ripping six kills and earning seven total blocks. All 13 Wolverines registered at least one kill in the match. 

The Navy and White took the court again a few hours later against Ursinus College. The Wolverines edged out the Bears 25-20, 25-22, 25-17 to earn their second sweep of the day and begin the year with an unblemished 2-0 mark.
