DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College Volleyball team earned a pair of wins to extend their streak to three consecutive victories, taking down John Jay and Washington Adventist each by a score of 3-0 on Sunday at Wentworth Gym.
In the Wolverines' first match of the day, Tionne Graves-Brown earned a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Codi Ziolkowski added 10 kills while Kristin Wissler chipped in with a team-high 12 digs.
The Wolverines never trailed in the first set and kept the Bloodhounds on their heels as they earned a 25-16 victory. In the second set, the Wolverines trailed 10-9, but turned the tables on John Jay to take a 13-11 lead. The squad then rallied off 10 straight points behind the strong serving of Jessica Tynes to gain a 23-11 advantage and close out the set 25-12. In the third, Wesley jumped out to an early lead and parlayed a 16-5 run into a comfortable 25-14 victory.
In the final game of the tri-match the Wolverines took on Washington Adventist University. The squad took down the Shock 3-0 in another sweep. Wesley earned a 25-9 win in the first set, took the second 25-4, and finished the sweep with a 25-7 win.
Kaya Ziskay shined with 10 service aces, tying the Wolverines' program single-match record. She also tallied four digs and five kills on just seven swings. Tania Rounds led the team with six kills and added four service aces. Beth Schlecker finished with a team-high 13 assists in the match.
The Wolverines move to 7-3 on the season and will travel to Chester, Pa. on Tuesday to take on Widener.
