CHESTER, Pa. - The Wesley College Volleyball team were close in every game, but ultimately fell to Widener in three games on Tuesday evening. 

Tionne Graves-Brown finished with a team-high 11 kills while Lindsay Burg dished off 14 assists. Kristen Wissler led the way with 18 digs and chipped in with three assists as well. Codi Ziolkowski led the defensive effort at the net with three total blocks.

Wesley jumped out to a 4-2 lead in game one but trailed by as many as nine points in the opening frame. Jessica Tynes rallied the team with a kill and five straight points on her serve late in the match but it wasn't enough as the Wolverines dropped game one 25-19.

In the second game the Wolverines had a game point with the serve after a kill by Elisa Hackendorn put them ahead 24-23, but the Pride pulled back with three straight points to take the game 26-24.

The Navy and White continued battling in the third, opening with a 4-0 lead and going ahead by as many as six points. The home team came back though, mounting a 16-10 run to tie the game at 25-25. From there the Wolverines avoided one match point with a kill from Graves-Brown, but Widener took the next two points to earn the 28-26 third set victory and the match.

Wesley moves to 7-4 on the season and will return to action on Friday when they travel to D.C. to participate in the Gallaudet Invitational.
