Marathon Second Game Drains Wolverines as they Fall to Seahawks

DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College Volleyball team fell in their first game of the night, but battled back to their longest game of the season in the second. The squad held game point at 26-25, but ultimately fell 32-30 and went out in straight games in the third.

Tionne Graves-Brown finished with 13 kills and 14 digs for a double-double while Jessica Tynes earned a double-double with 10 and 11. Lindsay Burg dished out 23 assists while Beth Schlecker passed off 21. Codi Ziolkowski led the way at the net with three total blocks including a solo block.

The Wolverine fought in the first game to come from two behind to tie the game at 19-19 but the Seahawks went on a 6-0 run to finish with a 25-19 victory. In the second, the teams exchanged 11 ties and four lead changes. The Wolverines had four match point chances but could not manufacture a win as the Seahawks took the game 32-30. Wesley seemed deflated in the third game as the Seahawks jumped out to a 14-7 lead. The Wolverines battled back to cut the lead to four points but could come no closer as the visitors finished their sweep with a 25-18 win.

Wesley moves to 9-14 on the season and will host Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday evening.
