Volleyball stumbles against No. 24 CNU

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's volleyball team fell in three sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-18) to the No. 24 ranked Christopher Newport Captains in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) match on Saturday.

Caelli Clifford paced the Wolverines with 19 digs and a kill from the libero position.

Jessica Tynes, Elisa Hackendorn, Tionne Graves-Brown and Mary Getty each notched four kills. Tynes and Graves-Brown also added five digs. Getty, Hackendorn and Codi Ziolkowski each blocked two attacks. Tania Rounds chipped in with three blocks.

Lindsay Burg handed out 11 assists, dug out five attacks and dropped in two service aces. Teaghen Vogelsang tallied 10 assists in the loss.

Katie Piper had 13 kills for CNU.

The Wolverines will step out of CAC play on Wednesday when they wrap up a four-game homestand against the Goucher Gophers. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
