Volleyball tames Lions in three sets

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College volleyball team rolled to a three-set sweep over the Penn St. – Brandywine Lions, 25-13, 25-19, 25-11 on Wednesday.

Elisa Hackendorn paced the Wesley attack with nine kills on 16 attempts. Hackendorn added nine digs and a block assist.

Micah Wright and Nya Lightfoot recorded seven kills apiece. Regan Healey tallied a team-high 15 digs and five kills. Mary Getty also registered five kills and three service aces.

Caelli Clifford had 13 digs on defense. She also served Wesley to 10 consecutive points in the third set with five service aces.

Lindsay Burg handed out 17 assists and chipped in with nine digs and three kills. Teaghen Vogelsang notched 14 assists and three kills.

Jade Maloney had nine kills for the Lions.

Wesley will host the John Jay Bloodhounds in a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday. The first match from Wentworth Gymnasium is set for 11 a.m.
