YORK, Pa. - Wesley College's Tristin Burris (Camden, Del./Polytech) was named the CAC Runner of the Week after finishing fourth at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational in her collegiate debut.
The freshman earns the honor after success as a double-duty competitor for the Wolverines this weekend. Sandwiched in between a pair of field hockey games Friday and Sunday (where she scored a goal in a loss at Gwynedd-Mercy), Burris placed fourth individually and was just 18 seconds out of second place in the Goldey-Beacom Invitational. She crossed the finish line in her first collegiate race in 22:25, fourth place overall and made her one of the 10 fastest Wolverines in school history.
She is the first Wesley runner to win the award since Joleen Schilling pulled the feat in consecutive weeks during the 2007 season.
The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday, October 10 when they travel to the Cabrini Invitational.
