Baseball drops high-scoring affair to Hampden-Sydney

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College baseball team dropped a 23-10 decision to the Hampden-Sydney Tigers in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

Wesley was able to push all their runs across in the final three innings of the game, including scoring seven runs in the seventh inning.

William Musser, Jordan Marucci and John Joines all scored twice for Wesley. Musser and Cory Joines each went 2-for-5 while Brock Wingate had a 2-for-4 day with a double.

Alexander Weber drove in a pair of runs with a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning and an RBI single in the eighth.

David Whitlock struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning.

Chase Counts had a home run with three runs scored and three RBIs in the win for Hampden-Sydney.

Wesley will begin Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday when they head to Arlington, Va. to take on the Marymount Saints in a doubleheader starting at noon.
