Davis pitches & Meisel hits Wolverines past Saints

Davis pitches & Meisel hits Wolverines past Saints
In a three game conference series vs the Marymount Saints, Cole Davis started game two, and combined with stellar defense the Wolverines broke up the sweep. The pitcher scattered seven hits over seven innings striking out seven to take down Atlantic East Conference leader Marymount 6-1. It wasn't all done on the defensive side though, Jacob Meisel put together a eye popping 4-4 outing plating five runners with his bat. The only Meisel hit that was truly needed came in the third inning via a double to centerfield scoring three, a lead the Wolverines would never relinquish. The Saints plated their only run of the game in the seventh inning, but the effort was futile as Davis once again shut the door.
Game one 21-4 and game three 15-2 of the series went the way of the Saints. The Wolverines did put together a 10 hit game in game one, but a few errors and hot Saint bats were to much for the Wolverines to overcome. Game three was much the same as the team couldn't quite string enough together to make a run. Jarrett Wallace, Jason Boc, Alex Weber and Kyle Schneider all contributed doubles during those games.
The Wolverines return to action Friday as the head up to Radnor Pennsylvania to take on Cabrini University in a single game at 3:30pm.
