Baseball takes a game from Gwynedd Mercy
In the final three game series of the Atlantic East Conference for the Wolverines they took the middle game from the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins.
On Friday the Wolverines headed north for the single game series opener. In a high scoring 12-16 loss Wesley scored first plating three runs in the top of the first inning, Gwynedd answered right back putting up two of their own. The game continued in a back and fourth battle but in the seventh inning the griffins put together a five run rally that was to much for the Wolverines to overcome. Sam Courtney lead the team offensively going 3-3 with a double & and triple contributing 4 rbi. Pitcher Anthony Santucci took the hard luck loss on the mound.
Today in a double header full of delays the Wolverines capitalized on a Cole Davis pitching performance that scattered six hits over seven innings contributing seven strike outs for the 11-3 complete game win. Dustin Sutton and Alex Weber lead the team going 3-3 and 2-2 respectively both banging out multi base hits and adding two rbis each.
In game three of the series Wesley fell behind in the fourth and couldn't recover falling to the griffins 17-9. Sutton and Weber once again were the rbi leaders adding two a piece while Dominic Williams went 2-3.
The Wolverines await the final seedlings from the Atlantic East Conference with Wednesday slated as the opening round of the teams final season.
