FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Wesley College field hockey fell to the Mary Washington Eagles 5-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines fall to 5-6, 0-1 in Conference play, while the 18th ranked Eagles improve to 9-3, 1-0 in the CAC.
Carlee Budd scored what would be the game winning goal in the 12th minute of the game off of a penalty stroke. The Eagles would continue to batter the goal, grabbing two more goals before the first half was called. Another two tallies would be added to the Eagles total before the final whistle blew.
The Eagles outshot the Wolverines 31-4 and also were awarded 16 penalty corners while Wesley had just four. Sarah Daniels takes the loss but made seven saves on the day. Kayla Fromal and Rebecca Kolenkiewicz combined for another seven saves for the Wolverines.
The Wolverines travel to Rowan for their next match on Wednesday, October 8 for a 7:00PM start.
