Seven different Wolverines score in shutout over Notre Dame

BALTIMORE – The Wesley College field hockey team cruised to a 10-0 non-conference win over the Notre Dame (Md.) Gators on Saturday.

Seven different Wolverines registered a goal in the victory. Kaila Hindt, Emily Wagner and Rebecca Dvorak each tallied two goals apiece. Brittany Bishop, Alicia Meier, Morgan Gannon and Jessica Behornar each registered a goal.

Wesley opened the scoring 3:41 into the game when Behornar netted the first goal of the game. The Wolverines then scored goals on four consecutive shots in the middle of the first half to take a 5-0 lead into the halftime break.

Two and half minutes into the second half, Wagner converted a penalty stroke to give Wesley the six-goal lead. Wesley would add four more goals in the latter part of the second half to give Wesley the decisive win.

Sidney Knott, Lauren Berry, Bridget Wood and Makenzie McIntyre each saw time in net for the shutout.

Today's win is Wesley's largest margin of victory since a 10-0 rout over the Cedar Crest Falcons on Oct. 4, 2013.

The Wolverines will play tomorrow at home at 1 p.m. against the Shenandoah Hornets.
