Free Throws the Story as Men’s Hoops is Edged by Marymount

DOVER, Del. – Marymount University made 32-of-41 shots from the free throw line to defeat the Wesley College men's basketball team, 62-57, on Wednesday night at Wentworth Gymnasium.  The Wolverines fall to 2-4 on the year and 0-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference while the Saints remain perfect at 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the CAC.

AJ Tilghman and Wayne Lennon led Wesley with 11 points each while Dontae Jones added ten points and nine boards to lead Wesley but the team shot just 33.3% from the field and made 14-of-21 shots from the line.

Jesse Konadu and Michael Anderson scored 19 and 16 points, respectively, to lead Marymount but went just a combined 5-of-8 from the floor.  The duo went 25-28 combined for the charity stripe.

For the first 30 minutes, the teams were neck-and-neck but Marymount took a 52-42 lead with 6:58 left, using a 13-4 run with nine of those points coming from the line.

The Wolverines travel to Southern Virginia at 3 pm on Saturday, December 6.
