Dover, Del. - The Wolverines returned home to Wentworth Gym to take on the Eastern University Eagles in their fifth game of the year and earned their second win of the season as they defeated the Eagles 85-62.
Brian Cameron led the Wolverines in scoring for the fifth game in a row with 22 points, as he finished 8 of 16 from the field, knocked down two three-pointers and nine rebounds. Greg Bloodsworth posted 20 points, went 7 for 7 from the field, 4 for 4 in three-pointers and 2 for 2 free throws. Bloodsworth also tallied two steals. Mychal Stefanides contributed 13 points to help push the Wolverines to their second win of the season.
Wesley jumped out to a quick 11-7 lead 15 minutes into the game and maintained that lead the remainder of the first half. A late three-pointer by Stefandies would put the Wolverines up 38-21 going into the second.
After each team hit a bucket early in the second half, Wesley took control and led by more than 10 points halfway through the second. The lead grew to 22 at 83-61 when Dylan Swientek made a smooth lay-up. Eastern would make one free throw in the last 12 seconds to end the game.
Wesley shot 47.1 percent from the field, including 44.8 percent in the second half, and finished 11 of 18 from behind the arc. Meanwhile the Wolverines limited the Eagles to 41.4 percent shooting, including just 4 of 14 from three-point range.
The Wolverines hit the road this weekend as they travel to Manhattanville College for the A.J. Buchanan Classic. The team will take on Manhattanville in the first game, Friday, Nov. 22nd at 8:00 p.m.
