Wesley Falls to CNU in Home Opener

Dover, Del. -  Wesley Men's Basketball opened up their season at home today against Christopher Newport. The Wolverines put up a tough fight, but fell to CNU's offense. 

After the first 10 minutes of the game, Wesley led 18-13. CNU ended up bringing it within one point but the Wolverines fought hard to widen the gap before halftime. 

Greg Bloodsworth hit the final field goal of the half, making the score 36-26, Wesley. 

Wesley was able to hold the lead after halftime, but with just 12 minutes left in the game, the Captains lessened the Wolverine lead to only one point. CNU quickly took the lead. 

The Wolverines were down by eight with just over five minutes and twenty seconds left in the game. Brandin Obidike played good defense, blocking and stealing the ball. Obidike passed the rock to Bloodsworth for a fastbreak layup. 

The Wolverines fought hard to close in on CNU's lead, but the Captains came out on top. 

Bloodsworth was excellent on offense, scoring 31 points in the Wolverine's loss. 

The Wolverines look ahead to Friday's matchup at home against Bryn Athyn. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
