Dover, Del. - The Wesley men's basketball team took home court at Wentworth Gym and managed to sweep the Bryn Athyn Lions in back-to-back games.
Game One: The Wolverines were playing great defense and took an early lead of 10-2 just ten minutes into the first half. Wesley continued to grow the lead off great defense leading to offensive opportunities. Wesley's defense did not let up on the Lions one bit. There were multiple steals and deflections from the Wolverines. Their offense did not lack either, with an offensive rebound put back from Tyler Poulson and 31 points from Greg Bloodsworth. Chris Evans had his own shining moment with two quick back-to-back threes, bringing the bench to their feet in celebration. Wesley took game one, 38-79.
Game Two: This game started out different for Wesley with the Wolverine offense struggling to get a bucket. Bryn Athyn took the lead and held it for almost ten minutes. The Wolverines got hungry and fought to tie the score at 10-10. The Lions and Wolverines went back and forth with the lead from that point through the end of the first half Both teams struggled on offense with missed buckets from off-target shots. The Wolverines picked up a two-point lead going into the half. The Wolverines came back strong in the second half, out-scoring the Lions 20-41. The final score for game two was 50-73, Wesley.
