Men’s Lacrosse Clinches CAC Playoff Spot

FROSTBURG, Md. – Scoring the first two goals of the game, and then the opener in the second quarter, Wesley College's men's lacrosse team led for a good portion, but was unable to hold on as Frostburg defeated the Wolverines, 17-9, on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines (5-8, 1-5) wrap up its regular season at Bethany (WV) on April 21 before going to St. Mary's on April 24 for the CAC First Round.

Goals by Sam Seibert and Lane Kocovsky gave Wesley an early 2-0 lead but the Bobcats scored two straight as the match was tied at two going into the second.  Seibert tallied another unassisted goal to open the second but FSU closed out the half with four straight scores and never looked back.

Frostburg outscored the Wolverines, 7-2, in the third to extend its lead to 13-5, but Wesley played even with the Bobcats in the fourth with four goals by four different players.

Both Seibert and Kocovsky tallied hat tricks while James Moss scored twice.  Joe Donato was credited with four assists while Matt Ryan stopped 12 shots for Wesley.

Ryan Serio of FSU led all players with eight points on five goals and three assists.
