Men’s Lacrosse Drops CAC Opener at Unbeaten Frostburg

FROSTBURG, Md. – Despite a hat trick by Sam Seibert, Wesley College's men's lacrosse team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference game at Frostburg State, 15-7 on Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.  The Wolverines fall to 4-2 on the year with a 0-1 mark in the CAC while the Bobcats remain perfect at 9-0 with a 2-0 record in league play.

Frostburg scored six-straight in the first quarter before Seibert put Wesley on the board with 6:28 left in the period.  The Bobcats were able to score two more before the end of the period and scored twice in the second to sandwich a goal by John Chenault, taking a 10-2 lead into halftime.

Seibert was able to score another in the third but the Bobcats kept it up with three goals to take a 13-3 advantage into the final period.  The Wolverines played a strong fourth, outscoring Frostburg, 4-2 but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Eric Bohns was Wesley's leader defensively with four caused turnovers and four ground balls while Josh Dean stopped 11 shots in goal.

Nick Stailey scored a game-high four goals to lead Frostburg.

Wesley begins a four-game homestand starting with Huntingdon on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 pm.
