FERRUM, Va. – Behind four fourth quarter goals, the Wesley College men's lacrosse team notched an 11-10 road win over the Ferrum Panthers on Wednesday.

A back-and-forth first half saw the game tied at six at halftime. After Adam Tewey's goal gave Wesley the 7-6 lead with 9:03 remaining in the third quarter, Ferrum put away three unanswered goals to close the third up 9-7. In the fourth, Wesley rifled off a four-goal run, two each by Josh Wassum and Nate Gemmato, to put them ahead 11-9. A Ferrum goal with 12 seconds left in the game proved too little, too late for the Panthers.

Wassum and Joe Fingles each tallied a hat trick and an assist in the win. Fingles also scooped up two ground balls.

Gemmato won five faceoffs, grabbed four ground balls and scored twice for the Wolverines while Tewey, Leo Kelly and Hunter Coho each tallied a goal while Zach Farnell added two assists.

James Cella made seven saves to register his fourth win of the season.

Ryan Tesler and Josh Brent each had two goals for the Panthers.

The Wolverines (4-2) will be back in action on Saturday, March 11 when they travel to New Jersey to take on the Stockton Ospreys. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
