Men’s lacrosse nets four second-half goals at St. Mary’s

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-5 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) road decision to the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks.

After falling behind early, Wesley put together a 4-0 scoring run in the final 16:57 of the game. Josh Wassum netted two goals with two assists for Wesley. Zach Farnell recorded two fourth-quarter goals while Zach Weitzel registered a goal in the loss.

Joshua Short, Nolan Vesey and Zach Darnell each caused two turnovers on defense. Vesey and Short each added two ground balls.

Dylan Sicca and James Cella each played a half in goal. Sicca stopped 11 second-half shots while James Cella tallied eight saves and three ground balls in the first half.

Max Groen had four goals for St. Mary's.

The Wolverines will wrap up the 2018 season when they host the 16th-ranked Christopher Newport Captains on Saturday. The opening faceoff of the CAC contest will be at 1 p.m. Before the game, the Wolverine will honor their five seniors.
