Dover, Del. – The Wesley Men's Lacrosse (1-1) team welcomed Ferrum to Drass Field for their home opener on Sunday, March 1. Ferrum defeated Wesley 12-2.
Ferrum put up three goals the first period off of six shots. Wesley managed eight shots but were unsuccessful in scoring.
Ferrum continued to score the second period going into the half leading 5-0.
Ferrum scored two more goals until the Wolverines got on the board at 9:25 in the third. Senior Nick Bruhn took the ground ball from Ferrum's zone all the way to the back of the net unassisted to give the Wolverines their first goal of the game, 7-1.
Ferrum answered back with a goal of their own.
Wesley's freshman Ryan Gilman scored the next goal unassisted followed by a Ferrum goal to bring the score to 9-2 going into the fourth and final period of the game.
Wesley was unable to find the net again as Ferrum took the game 12-2.
The Wolverines will travel down to Averett on Wednesday, March 4th. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
