Wesley upended in overtime against Eastern Mennonite

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's soccer team dropped a close 2-1 decision in overtime to the Eastern Mennonite Royals Wednesday night in a rain-soaked Drass Fiield at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

Eastern Mennonite opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Caleb Lasrado took a short goal kick from midfield and scored on a breakaway.

Wesley tied the game up at one when J.P. Amougou played the ball long and the EMU keeper misplayed the ball and Darius-David Robinson cleaned up the miscue.

After a scoreless second half, EMU's Dave Drafton netted the game-winner with 1:55 left in the first overtime when he played a ball in the box and it deflected off a Wesley defender and redirected into the goal.

Kyle Springsteen made four saves in net for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines will be back in action on Friday when they host the Shenandoah Hornets. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
