DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's soccer team blanked the Wilson College Phoenix, 1-0 at home on Tuesday to push their season-opening winning streak to three games.

The lone goal of the night came in the 37th minute off the boot of midfielder Nicholas Hood. Darius-David Robinson took the ball down the left side, cut it back and fed the ball to Hood just right outside the 18-yard line. Hood would drill it past the Wilson goalkeeper for the goal.

Defensively, Wesley played stout defense and only allowed one Wilson shot on goal throughout the entire game.

Freshman goalkeeper Jason Sommer earned his first career start, victory and shutout in the game.

The Wolverines (3-0) are back in action Friday, Sept. 7 when they host the McDaniel Green Terrors. Kickoff from Drass Field is set for 7 p.m.
