Princess Ann, Md. – Over this past weekend, the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams participated in the Eastern Shore Invitational hosted by UMES.
For the women, Evelina Sloboh placed 3rd overall in the 60 meter with a time of 7.81 seconds. Teryi Reed made it as far as the prelims with a time of 8.72 seconds. Reed also ran the 200 meter and finished 16th at 30.49 seconds. As a team, the Wesley Women finished 8th with a score of 6.
For the Men, Taz'Mire Burton, Tayvon Williams, Antoine Collins, Mike Brewer, and Ricode Washington all made it to the 60 meter prelims. Burton finished the prelims with a time of 7.30, Williams right behind Burton at 7.36, Collins came in at 7.44 while Brewer finished at 7.55. Not far behind was Washington who finished at 8.10.
The Men's team also ran the 200 meter and all advanced to finals. Williams placed 10th with a time of 23.42 seconds, Collins right behind him in 11th at 23.42 seconds. Burton placed 13th coming in at 23.59 seconds, Ian Thorne in 24th finishing at 24.41 seconds. Brewer placed 34th finishing in 24.98 seconds while Washington placed 41st finishing in 27.13 seconds.
Next up was the 400 meter finals where Collins placed 8th coming in at 52.75 seconds. Burton in 10th at 53.67 and Thorne who placed 14th at 54.85.
Damani Eason was the lone Wolverine who participated in the Men's Mile coming in 9th at six minutes and two seconds.
As a team, the men finished ninth with one point.
Both the Men and Women will travel to Ursinus College on Saturday, Feb. 8th for the Frank Colden Invitational.
