Softball All-PAC Announced
Dover, DE - Kelly Caton (FR, Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was named honorable to the 2005 All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball team.  Caton, a freshman, started in all 39 games for Wesley batting a respectable .331, with 39 hits, 24 runs scored and 22 RBI's.  Caton also had 11 stolen bases on the year.  Erika Leich (SR, Bronx, NY/Preston) was named to the All-PAC Sportsmanship team for Wesley.

Lady Wolverines Season Comes to End
(Wednesday, May 4th)
Glenside, PA - #6 Wesley College (17-22) fell to #3 Arcadia University (31-9) by a final score of 8-1 in the 1st Round of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Tournament.  Arcadia's Jenn Compton hit two home runs, knocking in four runs, and also pitched a complete game.  The Knights, who have won 17 straight games, will play Cabrini College on Saturday, May 7th at College Misericordia, with a time to be determined.  Cindi Lukomski had three hits, including a double and scored twice, while Laura Fencik added a home run for Arcadia.  The Knights had a 5-run third inning to help pull away from Wesley. 

Wesley's lone run came on a solo homerun by Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) who was 2-for-3 on the day, while Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) was 1-for-3 for the Lady Wolverines.

Lady Wolverines Swept by Misericordia
(Sunday, May 1st)

Dallas, PA - Wesley College (17-21, 11-11) dropped both games of the conference doubleheader to College Misericordia (27-9, 21-1) by final scores of 6-0 and 9-1 in softball action on Sunday afternoon.  In game 1, the Lady Wolverines had no hits offensively.  Stacy Mlynarski (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) pitched 4 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 earned runs.

In game 2, Wesley was led by Amanda Davidson (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's) who went 1-for-2 with a homerun and RBI.  Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester), Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn) and Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) all had 1 hit apiece.  Wesley has clinched a berth into the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Tournament, with seedings to be announced on Monday.

Lady Wolverines Salvage Split with Neumann
(Sunday, April 23rd)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (17-19, 11-9) split their doubleheader with Neumann College (13-15, 9-9) on Sunday afternoon in softball action.  In game 1, Wesley fell 4-3 in a 12-inning game and won game 2, 11-3.  Amber Vanderwende (Greenwood, DE/Sussex Tech) led Wesley in game 1 with her 3-for-4 performance.  Vanderwende added a double and RBI for the Lady Wolverines.  Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) pitched 12 inning for Wesley giving up only 9 hits and 1 earned run, while striking out 5.

In the nightcap, Wesley was led by the bats of Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) and Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills), as they both posted 3-for-4 days.  Morgan had 3 runs scored, a homerun, double and 3 RBI's.  Yost added 2 triples, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Amanda Davidson (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's) and Kalbach were both 2-for-3 with an RBI apiece.

Lady Wolverines Split with Marywood
(Friday, April 22nd)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (16-18, 10-8) split their doubleheader with Marywood University (7-25, 3-13) in softball action on Friday afternoon, losing game 1 7-6 and winning the nightcap 9-0.  In the opener, Wesley was led by Michelle Yost's (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) 4-for-4 game with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Mary O'Donnell (Novato, CA/Marin Catholic) was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's.  Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) added a triple and RBI.   In the finale, Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) pitched a 1-hitter, striking out 5 and walking only 1.  O'Donnell was 2-for-2 with 1 run score and 1 RBI, while Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored.  Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) had 3 runs scored.

Wesley Swept by Scarlet Knights
(Sunday, April 16th)
Glenside, PA - Wesley College (15-17, 9-7) lost both games to conference opponent Arcadia University (24-9, 11-5) by final scores of 9-1 and 11-5 in softball action on Sunday afternoon.  Wesley had 6 hits in game 1 and was led by Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) who was 1-for-3 with a double.  Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) added a single and a run scored.

In the nightcap, Kalbach again led Wesley with a 2-for-3 performance with a homerun and 2 RBI's.  Amber Vanderwende (Greenwood, DE/Sussex Tech) was also 2-for-3, while Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 2-for-4.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) added an RBI and run scored.

Lady Wolverines Drop Two
(Saturday, April 16th)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (15-15, 9-5) was swept in two games by conference opponent Cabrini College (15-13, 12-2) in softball action on Saturday afternoon by final scores of 9-1 and 10-5.  Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double, while Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) was 1-for-2 with an RBI.  In the final game of the doubleheader, the Lady Wolverines were led by Jessica Morgan's (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) 2-for-4 performance with 1 run scored.  Amber Vanderwende (Bridgeville, DE/Sussex Tech) was 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) added 2 RBI's.

Lady Wolverines Swept by Eastern
(Tuesday, April 12th)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (15-13, 9-3) was swept by conference opponent Eastern University (15-9, 12-0), by final scores of 9-1 and 11-3 on Tuesday afternoon in softball action.  Wesley took Eastern to extra innings in game 1, going into the extra frame tied 1-1.  The Lady Wolverines committed 3 errors, gave up 5 hits and 8 runs.  Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester) pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 run and striking out 3 along the way.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) led Wesley at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double.

Wesley Loses First Conference Game
Softball Splits with Rosemont
(Sunday, April 10th)

Rosemont, PA
- Wesley College (15-11, 9-1) split their doubleheader with conference opponent Rosemont College in softball action on Sunday afternoon.  The loss is Wesley's first in conference play.  Wesley fell in game 1 by a final score of 2-1.  Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim/Audubon) pitched for Wesley giving up only 5 hits and no earned runs.  Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron), Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's), Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) and Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) all had 1 hit apiece.  Boone had 2 stolen bases and 1 run scored.

In the nightcap, Wesley defeated the Lady Ramblers by a final score of 8-2.  Stacey Mlynarski (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) took the win on the mound for her fourth win of the year.  Caton was 3-for-4, while Kalbach and Mary O'Donnell (Novato, CA/Marin Catholic) were both 2-for-3.

Lady Wolverines Sweep Twin-Bill
(Saturday, April 10th)
Allentown, PA - Wesley College (14-10, 8-0) remained perfect in conference play with two wins over Cedar Crest College (2-8, 0-6) on Saturday afternoon in softball action.  Wesley won game 1 by a final score of 13-2 and game 2 by a final of 12-3.  In the opener, Stacey Mlynarski (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) went 5 innings on the mound, striking out 2 and giving up only 1 earned run for her 3rd win of the year.  Amber Vanderwende (Greenwood, DE/Sussex Tech) was 2-for-3 with a triple ad 4 RBI's, while Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

In game 2, Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorcester) won her 2nd win of the year, putting in 7 innings of work, striking out 3 and giving up 1 run.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) was 2-for-2 with a homerun and 4 RBI's and Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's.  Photo: Stacey Mlynarski

Lady Wolverines Split with Lady Pioneers
(Wednesday, April 6th)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (12-10) split with non-conference opponent Widener University (5-16) at duPont Softball field on Wednesday afternoon.  In game 1, Wesley fell 10-8 in 8 innings and was led by Amanda Davidson's (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's) 3-for-4 performance.  Davidson had 2 doubles, 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored in the effort.

Game 2 also went to the extra frame with Wesley winning 4-2.  Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) had a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the eighth for the win.  Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, while Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) added a triple and runs scored.

Head Softball Coach Tracey Short Earns Win 100
(Monday, April 4th)
Dover, DE - Head softball coach Tracey Short garnered her 100th career win in softball with Wesley's 5-0 victory over Alvernia College on Friday, April 1st.  Coach Short led Wesley to their lone PAC Championship in 1999.  "Winning number 100 is a milestone every coach aspires to achieve.  Many excellent softball players have come through Wesley College and have been a part of the success of this team.  I am honored to have had the opportunity to coach them and look forward to more wins and successful seasons," Coach Short stated.

Lady Wolverines Sweep Alvernia
(Friday, April 1st)
Reading, PA - Wesley College (11-9, 6-0) won their fourth straight game with a doubleheader sweep of Alvernia College (6-8, 3-3) on Friday afternoon in softball action.  In game 1, Wesley was led by Amber Vanderwende's (Bridgeville, DE/Sussex Tech) 3-for-4 performance in the Lady Wolverines 11-7 win.  Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) had a 3-run homerun, while Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) and Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) were both 2-for-3.  Wesley won game 2 by a final score of 5-0, being led by Caton and Boone both going 2-for-4.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) added a double in the win.

Softball Takes Pair from Washington
(Wednesday, March 30th)
Chestertown, MD - Wesley College (9-7) defeated non-conference opponent Washington College in two games Wednesday afternoon, 5-4 and 9-8, in softball action.  In game 1, Wesley was led by the trio of Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn), Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) and Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) with all of them going 2-for-3 on the day.  Boone had a double and run scored, while Kalbach had a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI.

In game 2, the Lady Wolverines were led by Tiberi going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored.  Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) and Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) were also 2-for-4 for Wesley.  Yost had 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) had 2 RBI's in the win.

Lady Wolverines Drop Pair to Rowan
(Friday, March 25th)
Dover, DE - Wesley College (7-9) fell to non-conference opponent Rowan University (7-5) in both games of their doubleheader on Thursday afternoon, 3-2 and 9-0, in softball action.  Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 1-for-2, while Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester) and Amanda Davidson (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's) were both 1-for-3.  Elzey added an RBI and Davidson had 1 run scored.  In the nightcap, Caton, Elzey and Davidson each had one hit apiece for the Lady Wolverines.

Wesley Deals Up Another Sweep
(Saturday, March 19th)
Gwynedd Valley, PA - Wesley College (7-7, 4-0) swept by conference opponent Gwynedd-Mercy College by final scores of 6-0 and 6-3, in softball action on Saturday afternoon.  Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Kim Kalbach (Mt. Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) and Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) were both 2-for-3.  Kalbach added 2 runs scored and Boone had an RBI.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) was 1-for-3 with a homerun.

In game 2, Boone and Morgan were both 3-for-4.  Boone had 2 runs scored and an RBI, while Morgan was had another homerun for Wesley and also picked up the win on the mound.  Caton, Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn) and Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) all had one hit in the effort.

Wesley Sweeps Mighty Macs
(Friday, March 18th)

Dover, DE - Wesley College (5-7, 2-0) swept Immaculata University (0-2, 0-2) in conference softball action on Friday afternoon by final score of 7-2 and 7-5.  In game 1, Wesley was led by Stefany Tiberi's (New Castle, DE/William Penn) 2-for-3 performance, with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.  Tiberi also went 6 innings on the mound, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) was also 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and 1 run scored and a stolen base.

In the nightcap, Morgan again led Wesley going 3-for-4 at the plate, with 2 triples, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-Sotuh Dorchester) had a double, 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored for the Lady Wolverines.  Tiberi led Wesley on the mound again, going 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and striking out 2.

Wesley Swept on Final Day of Spring Trip
(Thursday, March 10th)
Myrtle Beach, SC - After three consecutive doubleheader splits, Wesley College (3-7) was swept on their final day of play in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Wesley fell 10-3 to Crown College in the opener and fell 8-0 to Regis College in the second game.  The Lady Wolverines finished their spring trip 3-5 and will host Immaculata University on Friday, March 18th, with first pitch slated for 2:30 in their 2005 home opener.

Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) had a homerun and 2 RBI's for Wesley in game 1, while Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) added an RBI double.  In the nightcap, Morgan was 1-for-1 and Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) was 1-for-2 as the Lady Wolverines had only 2 hits in the game.

Myrtle Beach, SC - Wesley College (3-5) split their pair of games at Myrtle Beach, SC for the third consecutive day falling to Worcester Polytechnic University 3-2 in game 1, while defeating Wheelock College 10-1 on Wednesday morning.  Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) led Wesley in game 1, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double.  Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) was 1-for-2.

In the second game of the twinbill, the Lady Wolverines were led by Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester) going 3-for-3 with an RBI.  Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) and Tiberi were both 1-for-2 with an RBI apiece.  Ashley Dunn (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) had 2 RBI's in the win.

Wesley Deals Up Another Split
(Tuesday, March 8th)
Myrtle Beach, SC - Wesley College (2-4) split another pair games on Tuesday morning in Myrtle Beach, SC in softball play.  Wesley fell to Wilkes University in game 1 by a final score of 5-0 and defeated New Jersey City University, 9-3 in the second game.  In the opener, the Lady Wolverines only mustered up two hits, as Amber Vanderwende (Greenwood, DE/Sussex Tech) and Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester) had one hit apiece.

In the second game for Wesley, Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 2-for-2 with a double, while Michelle Yost (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) was 2-for-3 and a double.  Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn) was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's and Amanda Davidson (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's) added a base-clearing double for 3 RBI's.

Lady Wolverines Split Pair
(Monday, March 7th)
Myrtle Beach, SC - Wesley College (1-3) split their first two games in Myrtle Beach, SC in softball action on Monday morning.  Wesley defeated Susquehanna University by a final score of 5-1 in game 1 and fell to Juniata College 10-2 in game 2.  Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn) (1-1) picked up the win on the mound, going 7 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 3.  Tiberi was also 1-for-3 with an RBI.  Kelly Caton (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) and Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) were both 2-for-3 on the day, with Caton adding a homerun and 1 RBI.  Marie Elzey (Cambridge, MD/Cambridge-South Dorchester) was 2-for-2 with 1 RBI for Wesley.

Wesley Swept in Season Opener by #2 Salisbury
(Sunday, February 27th)
Salisbury, MD - Wesley College (0-2) traveled to non-conference opponent #2 Salisbury University for their 2005 season opener, falling in both games to the Seagulls, 7-0 and 4-1, in softball action on Sunday afternoon.  In game 1, Jessica Morgan (New Castle, DE/St. Mark's) was 1-for-1 with a double and Stefany Tiberi (New Castle, DE/William Penn) was 1-for-3 for the Lady Wolverines.  In the second game of the twin-bill, Angela Boone (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) was 2-for-4, while Jackie Simmens (Wilmington, DE/Pennsville) had 1 RBI.  Wesley had 5 hits in the nightcap.
