FROSTBURG, Md. – Wesley College's softball team dropped a pair of CAC games at Frostburg State on Wednesday night at Bobcat Field. Frostburg (7-5, 0-2 CAC) took the opener, 4-2, on a walk-off home run before winning the nightcap, 8-3. The Wolverines now stand at 12-8 overall and 0-4 in league play.
Lindsay Siok helped her own cause in game one as she gave Wesley a 2-0 lead with RBIs in the second and fourth innings. The Bobcats however got run back in the fourth and tied the score with another in the sixth, before Caitlin Lovend's two-run homer with one out in the seventh.
Sarah Saunders scored both Wesley runs in the opener after going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and a walk.
Siok received the loss after allowing four runs on nine hits while fanning four.
Wesley also took an early lead in the nightcap, scoring three runs in the first inning on a RBI single by Nina Marcano, followed by a two-run base knock by Siok. Siok and Marcano both had two hits in game two as well.
Frostburg was able to tie the score at three thanks to a pair of runs in the fourth while adding another in the fifth, but took a comfortable lead with five runs in the sixth.
The Wolverines host three-straight CAC doubleheaders, starting with Penn State Harrisburg at 1 pm on April 5.
