Greep named Atlantic East Coach of the Year; Four earn All-Atlantic East

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced the softball all-conference honorees on Monday. The Wesley College softball team had five representatives honored by the conference, led by head coach Juli Greep, who was named the Atlantic East Conference Coach of the Year.

Greep, in her eighth season as head coach, guided the team to a runner-up finish in the Atlantic East Conference Championship Series as the fifth seed after sweeping the opening pod against Immaculata and Cabrini. It is her first conference Coach of the Year award of her career.

Senior outfielder Megan DiRubbio and junior utility player Brandi Dalious were named to the All-Atlantic East First Team. It's the second time both players have been recognized on an all-conference team as Dalious was a 2018 All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) First Team selection while DiRubbio received All-CAC Second Team honors in 2017.

Dalious recorded a .732 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage to rank third in the Atlantic East in both categories. Dalious also tied for third in the conference with six home runs. She tallied a .378 average with 25 runs batted in, 20 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple.

A threat to steal every time she reached base, DiRubbio led the Atlantic East with 21 stolen bases. DiRubbio registered a .315 batting average with 41 hits, 20 runs scored and 10 RBIs. DiRubbio also reached base on at a .355 clip.

Senior infielder Ashley Royer and sophomore pitcher/infielder Dori Loukopoulos landed on the All-Atlantic East Second Team. Royer collected the third all-conference award of her career after twice being named All-CAC while it is the first time Loukopoulos earned all-conference honors.

Royer led the team and ranked 10th in the conference in batting with a .390 average. Royer also sat third in the league in hits (48), tied for third in triples (4), fourth in slugging percentage (.691), runs scored (34), doubles (14) and fifth in home runs (5).

Loukopoulos finished third in the Atlantic East in opponent batting average with hitters only hitting .235 against her. Loukopoulos won nine games in 2019, which was fifth-best in the conference. She also ranked sixth in strikeouts (55) and ninth in earned run average (3.06) in the Atlantic East.

At the plate, Loukopoulos notched a .371 batting average with 33 hits, 16 runs scored, 13 runs batted in, four doubles, two triples and a home run. Loukopoulos slugged .494 and reached base at a .441 clip.
