In a year of many lasts for Wesley College, there are also many first, the first Conference Pitcher of the Year Dori Loukopoulos and for the first time in 21 Years, Conference Player of the Year Gab Monzo. It is also the second time in the conferences two season in existence the Wesley coaching staff as been named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
DOVER, Del. - After securing the #1 seed and winning the regular season title, the Wolverines brought home the Atlantic East Championship as they took down the Cabrini Cavaliers 10-2 in run rule fashion.
For the first time in Wesley College Softball history three members have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All East Region team. This was the first all region honors for all three members as well.
DOVER, Del. - In a full team effort of outstanding offensive and defensive play the Wolverines swept through the Pod 1 Atlantic East Series advancing them to a showdown of the #1 and #2 teams for the Atlantic East conference championship next weekend.
SCRANTON, Pa. - With the best season in school history already stamped in the books, the Wolverines look to add a few more wins to their fairytale storybook ending as they have earned the right to host the the first weekend of the Atlantic East conference tournament.
In what was a ten day break between double headers, the Wesley Softball team used two shortened games to complete the series sweep over the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins. Dori Loukopoulos took little time controlling the game after her offensive put up four runs in the first inning. Loukopoulos then struck out the side in inning one handing it back over to the offense.
Shanyn Burch closed out a Wesley Softball 4-0 weekend series sweep of Cabrini throwing a No run, No hit 3-0 victory. This was only the second no hitter in school history. The last time came off former star pitcher Lindsay Siok in 2015.
The Wesley Softball team took their third game in a row vs. Immaculata in run rule fashion. Immaculata struck first in the 4th inning with a 2-0 lead before the Wolverines plated 11 runs in the inning off doubles by Kylie Nagle, Dori Loukopoulos, Miranda Kinney and Kaitlin Delaney.
The Wesley softball team headed north to the Atlantic East conference opener on Friday. In game one Dori Loukopoulos got the ball, in four innings of work she limited Immaculata to 5 hits and struck out 7.
Salisbury, MD. - The Wesley softball team traveled down route 13 for a second day in a row opening the day against Salisbury University. The fifth ranked seagulls were able to once again squeak out another one run victory over the Wolverines with the final score of 3-2.
In a tv show you would call this the series finale, in the world of athletics you call this the end of an era... In what hopes to be the crowning achievement for the Wolverines softball team, it’s an Atlantic East Championship and berth to the NCAA tournament or bust.
