Women’s Lacrosse Evens Its Record With Win

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team defeated Thomas (Me.), 15-10, on Tuesday afternoon at its annual spring break trip.  The Wolverines even their record at 3-3 overall while the Terriers fall to 3-2.

Mia Brocco led Wesley with five points on a team-high four goals while also dishing out an assist.  Jen Jacobs and Nina Cornog both scored three goals and added assists while Rylee Gould also netted four points on two goals and two assists. 

Also finding the back of the net for the Wolverines were Tristin Burris, Summer Stone and Alexandra Barbieri.

Cornog and Kaylee Miller both were credited with six draw controls while Brocco came up with five.  Cornog also had a solid showing on the other side of the ball with three caused turnovers, as did Jessica GiacconeJorden Lutz led Wesley on the defense with six caused turnovers and five ground balls. 

Alyssa Batty made 11 saves for the Wolverines, while Thomas' Brittany Fox stopped six Wesley shots.

Miranda Tinsman tallied six points on five goals and an assist for the Terriers.

Wesley is back in action on March 17, when it travels to take on Capital Athletic Conference rival Frostburg State in a 12 pm draw.
