DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team will continue their community service campaign the week of Oct. 30th with a canned food drive.
Members of the lacrosse team will set up in the College Center on Monday, Oct. 30, Thursday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to collect items. The Wesley community can also drop off their food donations to Coach Lontz in the Athletics' House on Queen Street.
"It would be great to see other Wesley organizations coming together for the cause," said head coach Jillian Lontz. "Though the Food Bank of Delaware needs community support year round, with the Holidays coming up, we'd really like to make a difference for our local families in need."
The Food Bank of Delaware is currently in need of canned fruits/vegetables, hot and cold cereals, canned meat, peanut butter, grains, and canned/dried beans.
After the canned food drive the women's lacrosse team will deliver the donation on Saturday, Nov. 4, where they will also be on hand to help for the day. The team will be helping in cleaning out the garden, packing meals, washing coolers, and restocking the pantry.
