Dover, Del. – A strong start for the Wesley College women's lacrosse team led them to a 15-0 win over Lancaster Bible Wednesday night in their season opener at Drass Field.

The Wolverines (1-0) opened their 2020 season off on the right foot, as Lancaster Bible could not find any answers to a 6-0 Wesley lead in the first ten minutes of the contest.

It took just three minutes into the game for sophomore attack Andrea Lopez Herrera to give the Wolverines their first goal of the 2020 season, thanks to Lindsey Lurz, before Margaret Johnson made it a 2-0 game, thanks to Kassie Dieter a minute later.

Seconds later Catherine Bennett scored (unassisted) to make it a 3-0 game.

The team went on to score 12 more points to bring the score to 15-0 going into the half.

Lancaster Bible looked to take only one shot the second half allowing Wesley to secure their first win of the season.

Leading the Wolverines tonight was junior midfielder Kassie Dieter and freshman attack Catherine Bennett, both scoring four goals.

Lurz led the team in assists, racking up four, while Dieter tallied three in the win.

The Wolverines are back on Drass Field Saturday, February 29 for an 11:00 a.m. draw against Penn St. – Abington.
