Women’s Soccer overwhelms Brooklyn, 9-1

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Wesley College women's soccer team dominated the Brooklyn Bulldogs, 9-1 in a non-conference road contest on Wednesday.

Wesley scored all nine of their goals in the first half. Megan Shacklock got the scoring started in the 2nd minute of the game off an assist from Amanda Moccaldi and Emily Caldarelli.

Four minutes later, Mackenzie Forsythe found Caldarelli outside the box and shot it into the open net. In the ninth minute, Moccaldi scored off an assist from Caldarelli and Lauren O'Sullivan from the right wing.

O'Sullivan got a through ball from Caldarelli to the right side of the box and scored past the goalkeeper in the 15th minute. O'Sullivan then found Caldarelli in the box to score Wesley's fifth goal of the game.

In the 25th minute, Forsythe would run past the defense on the right wing to score Wesley's only unassisted goal of the game. A minute later, Jada Simon would score on passes from Caldarelli and Brionna Olesky. 30 seconds later, Simon found Moccaldi to the top of the box for her second goal of the game.

Emily Garrett scored her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute of the game from 15 yards out on an assist from Simon.

Emily Caldarelli and Amanda Moccaldi each put away two goals while Caldarelli added four assists. Lauren O'Sullivan and Jada Simon had a goal and two assists in the win.

Kiyanna Gill, Isabelle Fabris and Emily Magness all saw time in net for the Wolverines. Magness made two saves in her 8:54 in goal.

The Wolverines (4-1) will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host the Bryn Mawr Owls at Drass Field.
