ASTON, Pa. – The Wesley College women's soccer team earned their first Atlantic East Conference win of the season with a 4-2 road win over the Neumann Knights on Saturday.
Mackenzie Forsythe got the Wolverines going early when she ripped a shot over the Knights' goalkeeper into the top corner of the net just five minutes into the game.
The Knights answered back 20 minutes later when Carissa Britton found Morgan Ryan off a corner kick.
Forsythe ensured that Wesley would go into halftime with the lead when she scored in the 30th minute.
Neumann rallied to tie it in the second half but two unanswered goals by Wesley's Forsythe and Allison Backert sealed the win for the Wolverines.
Defensively, goalkeeper Kiyanna Gill tallied three saves in net to earn her first collegiate win.
The Wolverines (6-3-1, 1-1 Atlantic East) are back in action Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they host the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins in conference play. Kickoff from Drass Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
