4x400m Relay Highlights Women's Track

FAIRFAX, Va. - The 4x400m Relay team of Twila McCrea, Stevi Carpenter, Kerri Pagels and Taylor Lynch highlighted a day where three Wesley College women's track & field school-records were broken at the Patriot Games Invitational on Saturday. Competing against primarily Division I teams, the Wolverines also saw school-records broken in the 1,000m Run and Distance Medley Relay.

Closing out the night for the women, the Wolverines 4x400 team finished in 4:20.23, shattering the old mark set earlier this season by over 12 seconds. McCrae, Carpenter and Pagels were also the first three legs of the record-setting DMR team which finished the 4,000m course in 13:58.57.  Concluding the relay was Tristin Burris in the Mile leg.

Burris also set an individual record of her own, eclipsing the school-mark in the 1,000m Run (3:30.50), breaking Pagels' old record by over nine seconds.

Carpenter and Lynch also turned in notable performances in individual events.  Carpenter clocked a 28.47 in the 200m Dash while Lynch, who was making her collegiate debut, recorded a 14' 10.75" effort in the long jump.

Just missing out on a school-record was Shakeiya Marshall, who ran the 60m Dash in 8.66.

Wesley returns to the track next weekend at the Frank Colden Invitational on February 2, starting at 9 am.
