Desir, Danforth Break School-Records at Morgan State Legacy

BALTIMORE, Md. – Sophomores Dieunise Desir and Taylor Rae Danforth combined to break three school-records to lead the Wesley College women's track & field team at the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday afternoon.  Results were not made available until Sunday morning.

A native of New Castle, Del., Desir broke her own school-record in the 800m Dash (2:28.08). Desir also ran the 400m hurdles for the first time at any level and clocked a 1:08.86 which best the school-record by nearly three seconds.

In the pole vault, Danforth improves each week and this time she eclipsed the 10' 10.25" mark to break her own school-record.

Just missing school-records in the sprints were freshman Alexia Mitchell in the 100m Dash (12.59) and Elizsha Streeter in the 200m Dash (25.43).  Streeter also clocked a 59.30 in the 400m Dash while Mitchell and Streeter ran two legs of the 4x100m Relay which finished 10th in 47.98.  Joining Mitchell and Streeter in the relay were Angel Hall and Ashley Morris.

Typically a 400m Runner, freshman Quadira Minus moved up into the 100m and 200m Dash for the weekend, clocking times of 13.29 and 26.87, respectively.  To close out the meet, Minus accompanied Streeter, Hall and Danae Carter in the 4x400m Relay to a 7th place finish in 3:55.87.

Also in the 400m Dash, freshman Chiquita Deline and Aja Russell clocked times in 1:01.87 and 1:04.89, respectively. 

In the field events, the Wolverines had impressive showing in the jumps with Kameko Webb taking 8th in 18' 01" while Talia Jones traveled a personal-record 16' 08.75".  Brittney Kerns also jumped 32' 4.25" in the triple jump.

Kierra Dukes also improved in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.44.

Wesley's 4x1 and 4x2 Relays will take part in the historic Penn Relays next week.
