Women’s Sprinters, Jumpers Deliver in 1st Day at CAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Elizsha Streeter set a conference-record in the 100m Dash and set another school-record in the 200m Dash in the preliminaries of the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at Graham Field.  

A sophomore from Hagerstown, Md., Streeter ran a 12.09 in the 100m Dash and then won her heat of the 200m Dash in 25.08, taking second overall in the prelims.  Classmate Angel Hall also had a great day, taking third overall in 12.29 and 25.36, respectively.  Also qualifying for Sunday's finals was freshman Ashley Morris in the 100m Dash (12.92).

Morris and fellow freshman Kierra Dukes both qualified for finals in the 100m hurdles in times of 15.13 and 15.90.  Morris' mark is a new school-record and seeds her fifth on Sunday while Dukes clocked a 15.90.

In events that completed on Saturday, sophomore Taylor Rae Danforth took third in the pole vault (10-08.75) while sophomore Brittney Kerns and freshman Anisah Teach took fourth and fifth in the triple jump.  Kerns traveled a school-record 35' 1.0" while Teach's best effort marked at 34' 6.25".

The Wolverines return to the track Sunday morning at 10 am.
