Wesley collects six first places at Widener Mideast Regional

CHESTER, Pa. – The Wesley College men's and women's track & field teams tuned up for nationals at the Mideast Invitational, hosted by Widener University on Thursday.

Wesley once again impressed in the relays at the meet. The women's team of Quadira Minus, Elizsha Streeter, Angel Hall and Briana Artis swept the relays. The quartet took the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.75 seconds and then won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:46.77. The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Patrick SchlosserGreg TaylorDaJahn Lowery and Terrance Mack placed first in the event with a time of 41.32 seconds.

Individually on the men's side, Lowery took home first place in the 200-meter dash (21.73) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (10.88). Roland Attoh-Okine won the 110-meter hurdles (14.50). Rayshawn McRae finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.19 meters (46-6.75). Taylor was sixth in the 200 (22.49) and Dylan Kaplan placed seventh in the javelin (34.61m, 113-6).

Streeter won the 200 meters on the women's side, turning in a time of 25.01 seconds. Courtney Williams placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.91 seconds. Taylor Rae Danforth earned seventh place in the hammer (29.99m, 98-5) and 10th in the triple jump (9.38m, 30-9.25).

The Wolverines will have to wait to see if their times and marks are good enough for the NCAA Division III National Championship, The three-day meet begins on May 25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
