SALISBURY, Md. - The Wesley College Volleyball team took a 3-0 loss at the hands of Capital Athletic Conference competitor Salisbury University on Tuesday evening in Salisbury.
Wesley was limited offensively to a .138 swing percentage while the Sea Gulls hit .370 as a team. Lindsay Burg dished out 12 assists while Beth Schlecker added eight and five kills. Codi Ziolkowski and Jessica Tynes had five kills apiece while Tionne Graves-Brown led the team with seven.
The Wolverines jumped out to an 8-5 lead in the first game before the Sea Gulls went on a 7-0 run that spurred into a 20-7 finish, giving the Salisbury team a 25-15 win in the first.
In the second, the Wolverines hit .174, their highest attack percentage by game in the match, and hung with the Sea Gulls. The Navy and White were eventually shrugged off by the home team as they pulled away for a 25-19 finish.
The Wolverines battled throughout the third game but couldn't overcome the Sea Gulls as they ran away with the third 25-17 to complete the sweep.
Wesley moves to 11-15 on the season and will take on Southern Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
